Endorsement and participation in the initiative

United Nations Global Compact (UNGC)

Kewpie signed and joined the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) in February 2025.
The UNGC is a voluntary initiative in which companies and organizations participate in creating a global framework for sustainable growth by demonstrating responsible and creative leadership and acting as good members of society. It supports and promotes efforts toward the realization of 10 principles* across four areas: human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption.

< Human Rights >
Principle 1 Businesses should support and respect the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights; and
Principle 2 make sure that they are not complicit in human rights abuses.
<  Labour >
Principle 3 Businesses should uphold the freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining;
Principle 4 the elimination of all forms of forced and compulsory labour;
Principle 5 the effective abolition of child labour; and
Principle 6 the elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation.
< Environment >
Principle 7 Businesses should support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges;
Principle 8 undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility; and
Principle 9 encourage the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies.
< Anti-Corruption >
Principle 10 Businesses should work against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery.

TCFD (Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures)

Kewpie Group has endorsed the TCFD (Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures) since 2021 and is also participating in the GX Future Consortium.
The Task Force on Financial Decisions (TCFD) was established by the Financial Stability Board (FSB) in 2015 at the request of the G20. The GX Future Consortium is a platform for collaboration among companies and financial institutions that support the TCFD.

TNFD (Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures) Forum

Kewpie Group joined the TNFD (Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures) Forum in April 2024.
TNFD was established as an organization to build a framework for private companies and financial institutions to appropriately assess and disclose risks and opportunities related to natural capital and biodiversity. The TNFD Forum is a coalition of volunteers that supports TNFD, with the aim of supporting TNFD's vision and initiatives and assisting in the development of the TNFD framework.

Keidanren Biodiversity Declaration Initiative

Kewpie has endorsed the Keidanren Biodiversity Declaration Initiative since 2024.
The Keidanren Biodiversity Declaration Initiative is a program that uses a dedicated website to disseminate and introduce the activity policies and case studies of companies and organizations that are working on multiple of the seven items outlined in the "Keidanren Biodiversity Declaration and Action Guidelines (Revised Edition)," or that endorse the overall spirit of the declaration, to both domestic and international audiences.

GPN (Green Purchasing Network)

Kewpie has been a member of the GPN (Green Purchasing Network) since 1996.
GPN is a network that promotes green purchasing activities, conducts public awareness campaigns and provides information, and performs research on green purchasing in order to encourage the formation of markets for products and services with low environmental impact and contribute to the creation of a sustainable socio-economic system.

RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil)

Kewpie Group has been a member of the RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil) since 2018.
RSPO is a non-profit organization established in 2004 by seven related organizations, including the WWF, with the aim of promoting sustainable palm oil production and use through the development of globally trusted certification standards and the participation of stakeholders.

JaSPON (Japan Sustainable Palm Oil Network)

Kewpie Group has been a member of "JaSPON (Japan Sustainable Palm Oil Network)" since 2019.
JaSPON is a network established by retailers, consumer goods manufacturers, NGOs, and others with the aim of solving various social and environmental problems in palm oil production and accelerating the procurement and consumption of sustainable palm oil in the Japanese market.

RTRS (Round Table on Responsible Soy Association)

Kewpie Group has been a member of the Round Table on Responsible Soy Association (RTRS) since 2024. The RTRS is a non-profit organization established in Zurich, Switzerland in 2006 to promote the expansion of responsible soybean production, trade, and use.

Ministry of the Environment Plastics Smart Campaign

Kewpie has been participating in the Ministry of the Environment's "Plastics Smart Campaign" since 2020.
"Plastics Smart" is the name of a campaign implemented by the Ministry of the Environment to reduce marine plastic waste. It promotes and disseminates nationwide "smart ways of dealing with plastic" through collaboration and cooperation among various entities such as individuals, local governments, NGOs, companies, and research institutions.

CLOMA (Clean Ocean Material Alliance)

Kewpie has been a member of CLOMA (Clean Ocean Material Alliance) since 2020.
CLOMA is a platform established in January 2019 to accelerate innovation by strengthening collaboration among a wide range of stakeholders across industries, with the aim of addressing the new global environmental challenge of marine plastic waste. This is achieved by promoting the more sustainable use of plastic products and the development and widespread adoption of innovative alternatives that lead to the reduction of plastic waste.

SCAFFF2030 (Sustainability Consortium for Agriculture, Forestry, Fisheries and Food)

Kewpie has been participating in the "Afunowa 2030 Project" since 2020.
The "Afunowa 2030 Project" is a project launched by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries with the aim of achieving the SDGs by 2030 and creating a future where not only the present but also future generations can live prosperous lives.

HSFE (Strategic Initiative for a Healthy and Sustainable Food Environment)

Kewpie has been participating in HSFE since March 2021.
HSFE, launched by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, is promoted through a collaborative system involving industry, academia, and government. It recognizes excessive salt intake, underweight among young women, and nutritional disparities resulting from economic inequality as serious social issues, and aims to realize a vibrant and sustainable society.
