Kewpie has continued to be a pioneer manufacturer of Sodium hyaluronate since 1983.
In 1983 we developed our first Sodium hyaluronate from Chicken comb.
Since our company also manufactures vinegar, we utilized the fermentation technology of vinegar used for our famous mayonnaise.
By using this fermentation technology we have switched our manufacturing process to biofermentation of Lactobacillus. Since 2016 we have developed and manufactured medical devices using our Sodium hyaluronate in Japan.

Kewpie has collaborated on research with many universities.
For example, our research has been about effects regarding knee joint pain and the mechanism of reducing wrinkles through oral intake of Hyaluronic acid.
We have published many studies regarding research results conducted in various journals.
